Dental Anesthesia Team

Chet Sokolowski, DDS

Dr. Sokolowski is a dentist anesthesiologist who practiced general dentistry for 20 years before deciding to enter into a dental anesthesiology residency. He holds a certificate in I.V. sedation from the Medical College of Georgia. He then completed a three-year residency at the University of Pittsburgh School of Dentistry/ University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in a hospital-based medical anesthesiology program.

Dr. Sokolowski was a former part time Assistant Clinical Professor of dental anesthesiology at the University of Pittsburgh and formerly held a position as staff dentist anesthesiologist at Yale in the dental pediatric residency program in New Haven. He now spends his time in private practice limiting his practice to providing sedation/general anesthesia to the special needs, pediatric, and phobic adult dental populations.

Dr. Sokolowski is board certified and is a Diplomate in the National Dental Board of Anesthesiologists. He is also a member of the American Dental Association(ADA), American Society of Dentist Anesthesiologists(ASDA), and the American Dental Society of Anesthesia(ADSA).

Ahmed Elkady, DDS

Dr. Elkady grew up in New York City and obtained his B.S. in Biology from the City University of New York at Brooklyn College. He received his dental training at New York University and completed a GPR at Queens Hospital Center. Upon graduation from residency, he relocated to Seattle, and practiced general dentistry for 5 years, providing dental care to the underserved communities of the PNW. It was during those 5 years of practice that Dr Elkady saw too many patients unable to get proper dental care due to dental phobia, special needs, or complex medical histories. Dr Elkady became acquainted with the dental anesthesiology profession while in the PNW and shortly thereafter moved back to NYC to attend a 3-year residency in dental anesthesiology at St Barnabas Hospital in the Bronx, a regional trauma center.

Dr. Elkady maintains the following certifications: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Basic Life Support (BLS). Dr Elkady enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter, cooking and being outdoors.
